A LETTER FROM THE TURF MAINTENANCE TEAM
Golf News
Welcome back to your golf course and the 2021 golf season .
The Turf Maintenance team is eager to begin a new year of providing you with the exceptional conditions you have come to expect on your golf course.
As we transition out of our winter mode, we are focusing on tree work throughout the course until the turf starts growing. With the recent snow melt the playing areas have appeared to weather
the winter very well. The greens are still recovering from a late season aggressive aerification. As
a result, our spring aerification will be a minimal disturbance process to promote quick healing on the greens. The fairway aerification is scheduled for September 7th and 8th after Labor Day.
We expect all of the playing areas to be up to standards by the end of April if not before, barring any late season snow storms.
We look forward to seeing you on the golf course very soon! Swing Easy,
John Chassard

MESSAGE FROM RACQUETS DIRECTOR
Dear LCC Members,
As the weather warms up we will be starting our tennis season. We plan on starting the tennis season after Easter if the weather cooperates. The Har Tru courts will not be open till end of April. I will let the membership know as soon as we are ready to open those courts. There is a lot of exciting improvements happening at racquets this season, so please stay tuned.
The Men’s and Women’s Club Championships were held in March. Billy Wall and Rich Adams won the title defeating Sanjay Khindri and Alec Talsania.
The Ladies Club Championships were won by Kaci Zeller and Pat Maggitti defeated Terry Khoury and Tracy Grob.
We also held our professional paddle tournament where the best men and women players in the country came and competed. I want to thank all the players that committed every week to travel for the MAPTA league. We had a great paddle season this year and I hope to grow it more next year.
I look forward to seeing you in the outdoor season on both tennis and pickleball courts. Thank you,
   Ari Datta

A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Fellow Members,
A year ago began one of the most challenging years the Country has ever faced. Despite the crisis COVID 19 created, the LCC Board and management effectively managed costs while continuing to meet our members’ needs. LCC will finish our current fiscal year March 31, 2021 in a strong financial position.
January and February are traditionally less busy times at Lehigh. However, 2021 began with many of you enjoying dining indoors and out, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, playing paddle tennis, and golfing with Rick and his simulator. All this activity was under the leadership of our new General Manager, Jennifer Felegy. I am so excited to have Jennifer on-board; we all feel her leadership presence and dedication to the member experience.
The beginning of the calendar year is budget time. In conjunction with Jennifer and the management team, the Finance Committee, led by Michael Thompson, completed the 2021/2022 budget which the Board approved on February 23. The budget includes several new and exciting amenities. The most significant capital project will be the much-needed bunker renovation. The project is scheduled to begin at the conclusion of the Fall golf season and will be completed before May 2022. I am also happy to announce that the budget includes four dedicated pickleball courts that will be constructed this Spring. Pickleball is a fast-growing sport, and LCC will be the first Club in the area to offer multiple dedicated pickleball courts. Also, many of you will be excited to learn that LCC will be purchasing a golf simulator. The simulator will be in the Governor’s room in the Clubhouse, allowing members to order food and beverages while playing golf. Capital projects are funded by the Capital Fund, the Capital Assessment,
and Entrance Fees. The 2021/2022 budget includes a $10 per month increase in the Yearly Capital Fund fees for all categories and Membership Dues will increase by $10 per month for all members. All activity fees remain the same.
I am incredibly excited about 2021 and thankful that Lehigh Country Club will continue to deliver an exceptional member experience. While the pandemic has kept us from enjoying Lehigh’s traditional events, the management team and staff’s creativity has provided the membership with new and different opportunities. From fire-pits s’mores to at-home wine tastings and cooking classes, the team has gone above and beyond to help the membership manage through this difficult time.
Lehigh Country Club has been a refuge for most of us during the pandemic, and we owe thanks to our exceptional staff. As restrictions continue to be lifted and our community is vaccinated, I look forward to seeing more of you at the Club.
Very truly yours,
John T. Yurconic

A LETTER FROM THE GM
3/30/21
Dear LCC Members:
Happy Spring! The weather has been getting warmer and activity at the Club is increasing everywhere. There is activity at the tennis courts, the full golf course open and lots of members enjoying lunch & dinner in the Clubhouse. We have over 200 reservations on Easter Sunday!
As a reminder we will still continue to follow CDC guidelines. With a lot of people receiving vaccinations, some may tend to let their guard down. At this time, we must continue to require masks in the Clubhouse, Golf Shop and Court Pavilion.
The good news is our capacity levels will increase as of April 4th and bar service (of some sort) will return. We can accommodate larger functions such as weddings, showers, graduation parties, etc. Reach out to Marianne to book your event. Dates are filling fast!
Spring is a great time to show off the Club to your friends, associates or
family members that may be interested in joining LCC. We are hosting a prospective member reception on Friday, April 9th. This is a great opportunity to experience an evening at the Club and potentially join prior to the summer season.
Watch your email in the coming days for information regarding children’s summer camps. We will be offering golf, tennis and regular summer fun camps this year!
As always, if I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Hope to see you around the Club soon!
Sincerely,
Jen

A LETTER FROM THE MEN'S LOCKER ROOM
Gentlemen,
With the season beginning, don’t forget to get your golf shoes ready! The shoe room has been slow all winter, but we’re hoping for a busy spring.
Cooper, Bill and I will be manning the locker room this month until Chase and Hunter return in May. The Men’s Lounge is a great place for a bite to eat after your round. Hopefully, the full course is open by now, COVID restrictions ease up a bit, and we begin to see a lot of activity again around the Clubhouse.
The locker room staff welcomes you back and looks forward to seeing a lot of rounds played and more use of the locker room is season.
Be well,
Ivan Fenstermacher

A LETTER FROM CHEF RANDY
Hello Spring
I hope this correspondence finds all of our LCC families happy, healthy and eager for a new season.
I’m looking forward to putting 2020 behind us; we are now finishing up new menus for ala carte and special events. The next couple weeks are a really cool time for new seasonal produce, seafood, meats and poultry.
Our seedlings are sprouting and soon ready to be planted outside at the garden, Mr. Flanley as always is a huge help with getting us started in the spring, thank you. It won’t be long until we see soft shell crabs, lobster, lamb and a different variety of produce.
Please feel free to stop in and say hello, our staff takes much pride in providing our membership with a quality and consistent experience at LCC. As always if you have any specific wants
or needs i.e. allergies, aversions or lifestyle please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
As you might know LCC favorite Snapper soup is not available right now due to a domestic turtle shortage, we hope to have fresh turtles back soon.
Thank you,

A LETTER FROM THE F&B TEAM
Hello Lehigh Members!
This snow is finally melting and spring is right around the corner! We are beyond excited for the loosened dining restrictions. Our bartenders have been lonely without having the members to keep them company at the bar. Alyssa and Ryan would love to see you and make you your favorite cocktail!
What a whirlwind of a year! In keeping with the subject with the loosened dining restrictions,
we as an F&B team cannot wait to see more of our members able to make it out to the Club. We have been very fortunate to have had the support of the membership throughout this trying time. We have had to learn and adapt to this new process of service, which in the long run will make us stronger and able to offer an extremely diverse member experience! Our team is very grateful.
As in previous years when the weather begins to warm, you start to see the familiar faces of our seasonal staff beginning to return from college and spend another summer at Lehigh. We look forward to getting them back and welcoming some new faces along the way.
As always, an exceptional member experience is our goal every time you enter the building. If there is ever anything we can do, feel free to let us know.
We look forward to seeing you soon! Cheers,
Brad Shultz

The mission of Lehigh Country Club is to be the private country club of choice in the Lehigh Valley. This will be achieved by providing quality facilities and services and by making Lehigh Country Club every member’s preferred establishment for dining, social, and recreational activities.
We will provide an outstanding golf course in terms of appearance, condition, and fairness to all levels of play, in addition to an excellent tennis, paddle tennis, swim, and clubhouse facilities, with well manicured grounds surrounding the club complex. Employees will treat every member, family member, and guest with courtesy and respect, in a warm and welcome atmosphere.
In order to ensure the excellent experience for the members, the Club will carefully select compatible new members and appropriately limit the total membership.
The Board of Governors and management will be both responsive to the membership, as well as responsible, with the purpose of perpetuating the Club by constantly maintaining the facilities and operating the Club in a sound financial manner to protect and enhance the value of the member’s equity, thereby assuring the continuity of Lehigh Country Club’s long tradition of excellence.
