Based on the research and writings of British physician A.T.W. Simeons, the hCG Diet combines a strict diet plan with the use of the natural hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to assist in weight loss. The hCG Diet prompts the body to use stored fat for energy when calories are reduced while dieting, so you lose fat, not muscle mass and bone. Under a doctor’s supervision, a small amount of the hCG hormone is used along with a very low calorie diet.

Diet
 • hCG is Human Chorionic Gonadotropin
• hCG diet was originally developed by Dr. A. T. W. Simeons. By using a combination of VLCD (very low calorie diet) and hCG injections, the diet focuses on resetting one’s metabolism to ensure long term weight loss.
• hCG is the hormone secreted by the placenta during pregnancy. It allows the body to metabolize fat and use it as energy. The hCG can metabolize 1500-4000 calories per day into the bloodstream.
• hCG is extremely safe for both men and women. It is found in every human tissue and has no known contraindications with homeopathic remedies and medications, including birth control pills and depo-provera.
• Women should wait until after the menstruation cycle to begin the hCG diet. Once on hCG and you have a menstrual cycle, you can continue taking hCG. If you are preg- nant, do not take hCG.
• Never skip any meals! It is important to eat all 500 calories, especially protein, so that you lose fat, not muscle.

The goal of the hCG diet is to achieve a state of ketosis, which will enable your body to burn fat for energy, Keto loading helps you reach ketosis as quickly as possible, and will also help to activate the hCG. Clean loading will not have a negative effect on your metabolism and make the diet more difficult as if you were to load on starches and refined carbohydrates. Ideal foods for loading include salmon, eggs, milk, yogurt, nuts, olives and olive oil, tuna, bacon, butter, full fat cottage cheese, salami, peanut butter, dark chocolate, and cheese. Try not to eat refined carbohydrates including breads, potatoes, pasta, alcohol, and desserts.

SPICES AND CONDIMENTS
The juice of one lemon per day is allowed for any purpose. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, and any other natural herbs or spices can be used. No oils, butter, or dressing should be consumed. Braggs Liquid Aminos (soy sauce substitute), mustard, and apple cider vinegar are all approved.
     • Low-intensity cardiovascular activity and strength training are encouraged. The more you move, the more fat you mobilize for energy!
• No alcohol is allowed during the hCG diet.
• If weight loss plateaus, increase water consumption, increase green tea con- sumption, eliminate one fruit each day, stop mixing vegetables, or observe an “apple day”. Consume 6 apples within 24 hours with nothing else to eat or drink except water.
• If constipated, try a laxative tea. It is not uncommon to have a bowel movement once every 3-4 days.

As part of your hCG package you will get personalized health coaching services. Health coaching involves exercise and nutrition. The most important thing you can do for your overall health is to be consistent with the healthy choices that you make daily. While you are on the hCG diet your food choices are limited and basically made for you. In addition to the immediate results you will see, we want to ensure that once you are finished with the limitations
of the diet you continue making healthy choices well into the future to see positive results.
Health coaching will be built-in accountability and support throughout your completion of the hCG diet. You have the potential to achieve incredible results, but only you can do the work. Use the health coach to make sure that the work and effort that you are putting in is effective and gives you the best results. The health coach will help keep you on track and be
a steady voice to rely on as you make your transformation.
While you are on the hCG diet, it is important to stay active and exercise regularly. Workout as intensely as you can
to maximize the amount of fat that you
burn. Remember that you body is built for efficiency. Because your calorie intake is much lower, you will run the risk of burning through muscle, especially if you do not complement the diet with an exercise routine. The best way to combat muscle loss is through intense training that forces the body to use the muscle it already has.
Below are some examples of workouts
to try. These are simple and can be done at home using body weight or dumbbells. The key to making the workouts effective is to focus on pushing yourself to your limit. Do more than simply go through the motions—it should be a struggle. You will get better results and surprise yourself with what you can do!

as important as the weight loss phase. The purpose of the maintenance phase is to maintain metabolic function and customize your metabolic function with your new weight.
The maintenance phase lasts for three weeks and begins immediately after your last day of very low calorie dieting. During the maintenance phase you will increase your calorie intake to 1500 calories, making up 3 meals and snacks. It is important that these meals are comprised of healthy foods, You may now consume any meats, eggs, fruits, cheeses, milk, vegetables, and low sugar dairy products. Stay away from heavy starches and sugars.
During the maintenance phase you may reintroduce healthy oils into your body such as flax seed oil, extra virgin olive oil, and coconut oil. Avoid the unhealthy oils such as vegetable oil and shortening. Butter may be consumed lightly. Continue cardiovascular activity (can increase intensity) and strength training.
Once the maintenance phase is complete you may consume sugars, carbs and healthy starches in moderation. We recommend whole grains, oats, wheat bread, etc. Avoid heavy starches and sugars such as those
found in potatoes and rice. Hydrogenated oils, processed foods, and high fructose corn syrup should be avoided.
During and after the maintenance phase you should not gain any weight. Continue to weigh yourself daily. If you experience
a common two-pound gain within the maintenance phase do not worry. However, once the scale registers above a two-pound weight gain, it is important to observe
a “Steak Day” the same day the gain is noticed. Many clients have discovered that a steak day will eliminate the weight.
Maintenance Phase
 STEAK DAY: Drink plenty of water (1/2 to 1 gallon). Consume zero calories for breakfast, lunch and snacks. For dinner consume a large unsalted steak, and an apple or tomato.

This is the lifetime maintenance of the program. Continue to keep sugars to a minimum, and introduce starches back to your diet very slowly. Continue to eat proteins and stay away from heavily processed or fast foods. Weigh yourself often, and use the steak day if you have gained beyond your baseline weight.
